Into Magnolia Sandy Cove Series Volume 3 Rosemary Hines 9781542469906 Books Reviews

I love this series. I read each book in the wrong order and had finished all but this one. So I read it with the knowledge of what was to come. I still enjoyed it because it filled in info I wondered about and there is enough explanation that it can stand on it's own. Loved all the characters and was reminded of Karen Kingsbury. I felt that this series surpassed Kingsbury's, and that says a lot! Each book in the series comes to a satisfactory conclusion even though there is more to come.
Rosemary Hines is an excellent story teller with the ability to weave Christian values into each book. I loved this series. The characters are well developed and could easily be people I know. I highly recommend all three books in the series, and cannot wait for number four.
This was a great Christian book. It took you through each persons life and struggles. I enjoyed this book very much. It is near the top of my personal list of great books. Thanks Rosemary for being a Christian writer and living the Christian life. To God be the Glory.
What a wonderful message of hope and love this story gives the readers. Teachers give more to their students than most people know and this story can lift your hearts to the love, caring and hope most teachers want to give their students. Michelle Baron is starting her first middle school class with enthusiasm for sharing her love of learning. As her students arrive they sit where they chose on the this first day. At the back of the class room Michelle notices some students that slump immediately down in their seats. She try's not make a judgement call and plans to reassign posssible problems students closer to the front of the classroom. As the school days pass one young girl Amber, seems to be having problems and Michelle wants to find a way to reach this troubled teen. The story continues when Our Heavenly Father helps both Michelle, her husband Steve, their daughter Madison and Amber on a path he has set for them. A heart warming story of great compassion and love.
This is the third book in a series following the life of main character Michelle Baron. I loved this series because it realistically deals with life issues, such as attempted suicide, teen pregnancy, sterility, adoption, insemination, and aging. The first book, "Out of a Dream", dealt with New Age philosophies. The power of God to change lives and care for His children is manifested Throughout the series. This book takes Michelle into her first teaching position at Magnolia Middle School. As she juggles family, faith, and teaching, God shows her how to handle difficult situations with love and wisdom. Her faith in Him is strengthened through each experience. I was inspired and amazed by the author's ability to weave events and God's grace into the lives of her characters. This is a must read for anyone desiring to be encouraged and uplifted. I eagerly await Book Four.
I liked the story line but I found it to e very repetitive at times. We were reminded more than necessary about Michelle's father's attempted suicide. It wasn't that I minded it being repeated, it just seemed like it was described the same way each time rather than giving me new information that might have given me new insights into Michelle.

On the other hand, I appreciated the spotlight on the importance a teacher can play in the life of a child in crisis. It is a good reminder to all of us to notice those in our world that might not have any support other than what we give them.
Fourteen-year-old Amber Gamble has had a difficult year. Since her dad walking out and her mom having mental issues, she's had to live in three different foster homes.

But as eighth grade begins, things start looking up. Michelle Baron, a first-year language arts teacher at Magnolia Middle School, immediately takes an interest in the troubled teen and reaches out in a variety of ways. Long deprived of an adult who really cares and supports her, Amber quickly bonds with Mrs. Baron and begins to make small but clear progress.

Then the bottom drops out - one mistake turns Amber's already precarious life into something she can no longer handle. She doesn't know how to fix things, and even with Mrs. Baron's help, nothing will ever be the same again. How can Amber find the strength to get through this?

Meanwhile, Michelle is going through her own struggles, trying to balance the many responsibilities of her new teaching job with caring for her husband and 5-year-old daughter Madison. Amidst it all, little Maddie suddenly develops some troubling bruises on her body. Can Michelle's faith get her through this crisis?

Although I'm not usually a fan of Christian fiction, I enjoyed this book; Hines is skilled at putting a bit of prayer and religion into her story without going over the top. Likewise, I read this book without reading the first two, and found that while it might be nice to have some more background on Michelle Baron, it's not absolutely necessary to enjoy this book.
